I became my community’s financial person by accident. Then I made it my purpose.
Orolaia is a bilingual personal finance brand created for Latinas and anyone who’s never felt seen in traditional finance.
Our Founder
Hi! I’m Natalia. I’m from Colombia, have two Ivy League degrees, and know what it’s like to build wealth from scratch. I created Orolaia for our comunidad, because you deserve tools that meet you where you are – and speak your language.
Hi, I’m Natalia — founder of Orolaia and your new bilingual money guide.
Growing up as an immigrant in the US, money was something we worried about — not something we talked about. No one sat me down and explained credit scores, or how compound interest works, or what a 401(k) even is. We figured it out as we went, and sometimes that cost us.
Over the years, I became the person my friends and family called when they had money questions. I helped them understand their credit reports. I prepared their tax returns. I walked them through financial products that were being sold to them — sometimes honestly, sometimes not. I watched people I love get taken advantage of simply because no one had ever explained the rules of the game.
The Latin community makes up a huge and growing part of this country. We work hard. We build. We sacrifice. And yet the financial system — the institutions, the products, the education — was never designed with us in mind. That’s not an accident. And it’s not our fault. But it is our problem to solve.
Orolaia is my answer to that. It’s the resource I wish had existed when my family first arrived. It’s the conversation we should have been having at the dinner table. It’s financial education that doesn’t talk down to you, doesn’t require a finance degree, and doesn’t pretend our cultural experience doesn’t exist.
Whether you’re just starting to understand your credit, thinking about your first investment, or trying to build something that outlasts you — you’re in the right place.
Bienvenida. Let’s build wealth — juntas.
— Natalia, Founder of Orolaia
